A SWANSEA supermarket worker cashed in receipts left by customers and pocketed more than £2,000, a court was told.
Nathan Preece, 23, collected the receipts left by Asda customers at its Gorseinon store and used them to get money back as part of the company's "Price back Guarantee" scheme.
Swansea Magistrates' Court heard that Preece, who worked on the customer service till, would collect abandoned receipts and check if they were eligible for the scheme once he returned home.
If they were, he would then take them back to work and cash them in. Preece added the amounts to a gift card and admitted racking up £2,011.

“Why is there a prosecutor? Is this breaking a law because if people knowingly abandoned the receipts then perhaps it is finders keepers. At most this is an internal thing to the Supermarket.”
