Hi Everyone. Hope you have had a fantastic week. Here is my exiting blog about the last hairspray rehearsals!

We had a double rehearsal this weekend (Saturday and Sunday). We need lots of practice now as the show is only 2 weeks away. We had full days in the theatre which was lots of fun, but really tiring.

Saturday Morning, rehearsals begin at 10am, got up at 9.15am, and was running a bit late for class, still I got ready had breakfast and had time to go over my scenes in the car on the way. I put the Hairspray CD on in the car and listened to my favourite song, 'Without love'. I cannot wait to practice this song today. It is one of the hardest as there are points in the song that we have to stop in the middle because there is dialogue. It takes time to get us to stopping and talking in the middle of a song and it's harder than I thought it would be, but also is getting much easier the more and more that I practice.

When I got to Rehearsals we began with a vocal warm up as today we were making sure the harmonies are correct and everyone knew exactly what they needed to sing. After warming up, we went through each song one by one, making sure the harmonies were perfect for each and every one. This took quite a long time because the harmonies are so hard, and there are so many different parts. However, the songs sounds amazing and I know already this show is going to be fab!

After singing, Mark the director told us to go onto the stage and do each routine with the singing and harmonies in place. We were all really nervous as it is very hard to sing and dance at the same time without it affecting your voice. It was a very big challenge as I knew it would be, but it was actually great! All the cast pulled their weight and made it into a team effort. I just hoped Sunday's rehearsal would be just as successful.

Saturday afternoon we had costume fittings, all the costumes are looking amazing, I love the dynamites dresses and Tracy's costume! My costume wasn't quite finished but I will update you on this next week!

Sunday morning up bright and early, rehearsals start at 11am today, so I got a bit of a lie in. We began with a quick warm up game of fire ball, I love that game, it really wakes you up and prepares you for a busy day!

After warming up we went through some routines with Mark, focusing on the big dance numbers like 'You can't stop the beat'. We had to reposition some of the people on the stage so that everyone to have more room to dance. By the end of the session the routines were looking really good. I think we will be working on more of the big routines next weekend!

After this Mark told us all he had a bit of a surprise. We all sat along the stage edge and Mark brought out all the Wigs. They were amazing! I don't need a wig in this show, but lots of people do and they will look fantastic. The wigs have been bought from America and they really are worth it. Some of them are huge and need loads of clips to keep them in place.

This coming week we have a costume rehearsal, and I am really looking forward to seeing what I will have from my character Seaweed. I will let you all know how it goes in my next blog. I cannot wait for this show now and it is starting to come together fast! Role on show week!!
