Strange lights spotted in Swansea sky

Sunday, September 14, 2008, 09:00

DID you see any mystery objects over Swansea on Saturday night?

Two people have contacted this website to say they did.

Neath Abbey man Alex Beynon said: "We spotted a strange object high up in the sky.

"Bright lights seemed to stay stationary for a bit then move around slowly; next thing it totally disappeared into thin air — we could not believe what we were seeing!

"The object was round in shape and had colourful lights on it. I just wish I'd had a camera on me at the time! We were totally baffled by what we saw. Did anyone else see this Saturday night, at around 8:30pm?"

A Swansea a man from Killay, who did not want to be named, said he also saw something strange in the sky, a little earlier on Saturday night at 7pm.

"There were a few stars starting to appear and then I saw what looked like a shooting star. It shot across the sky and then split into three and vanished.

"It could have been something burning up in the atmosphere, or a firework, although I don't know why someone would be letting off fireworks when it was still light."

If you saw either of these events, please post a comment on this story.
