Blow-up doll found in fly-tip haul

Monday, October 06, 2008, 17:45

COUNCIL fly-tipping police thought Del Boy and Rodney had been in town when they found a blow-up doll and other adult toys dumped at the side of the road.

It was like a scene from the hit TV comedy Only Fools and Horses when the doll, called Mandy, was discovered in bin bags dumped in a lay-by on the main road between Llanelli and Llannon.

Environmental enforcement officers were also surprised to find other adult toys and saucy underwear in the black bags.

It is just one example of the fly-tipping which blights the region, costing taxpayers thousands of pounds every year.

Carmarthenshire Council has launched an investigation.

Area environmental officer Paul Morris said: "In all seriousness, this is a criminal offence and anyone caught fly-tipping will be prosecuted.

"Not only does fly-tipping spoil our quality of life and enjoyment of the environment, but it can cause serious pollution and harm to human health, as well as harm to wildlife and farm animals."
