Three wards closed at Morriston Hospital because of mystery sickness bug
THREE wards have been closed at Morriston Hospital because of a sick bug - but bosses have said the presence of Norovirus has not yet been confirmed.
The wards have been closed to admissions and to visitors, because some staff and patients have been experiencing sickness and diarrhoea.

The virus, which is highly contagious, causes vomiting and diarrhoea. As there is no specific cure, patients are advised to let it run its course, which should not last more than a couple of days.
Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board Trusts says it has witnessed an increase in the number of people experiencing sickness and diarrhoea, and has advised those suffering from such viruses to stay away from hospitals.
A spokesman said: "If you have had sickness and / or diarrhoea or have been near someone who has please do not visit the hospital.
"We are starting to see an increasing number of cases in the community and subsequently this does affect patients and wards in hospitals.
"Everyone can help stop sickness and diarrhoea spreading by making sure they wash their hands thoroughly. Especially after going to the toilet and before preparing or eating food.
"If you have sickness and / or diarrhoea it is important you stay at home for at least 48 hours from the last time you were sick and / or had diarrhoea.
"Don't be tempted to pop to the shops, go back to work / school or have friends or family to the house – you could still pass the virus on."

“Just got back from seeing Mystic Megs welsh equivelant "Septic Peg"
She has stated that next weeks health headlines in Morriston Hospital will be " A&E rammed to capacity , Ambulances waiting up to 6 hours outside, patients on trolleys for over 24 hours.
Staff crying due to pressure of workload. etc etc
"A -BUM-HB" reply will be , due to extreme increase in patients having D&V we have been experiencing some minor waiting issues in the A&E, however we have it under control due to Brilliant coping strategies put into place by the senior management"
They stated it was due to the amount of innapropriate unsceduled care patients attending that did not need to attend and advised them to contact NHS re-direct."
I told Septic peg that i do not think this will happen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lets wait and see and its only October !!!!!!!!!”
