LLANELLI AM Keith Davies remained in a stable condition in hospital last night.

However, a Labour party spokesman said he was still undergoing tests.

Mr Davies was admitted to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff last Wednesday.

Earlier in the evening, the 71-year-old Labour politician had attended a function organised by a public affairs group.

The Labour spokesman said: "Keith Davies is in a stable condition at University Hospital of Wales. He is still undergoing tests at the Neurosurgical Unit and remains under observation.

"Keith's family and Welsh Labour would like to thank those who have sent messages of goodwill and support."

Messages of support have come in from across the Senedd chamber.

South Wales West AM Bethan Jenkins sent her thoughts to Mr Davies's family through Twitter, saying she hoped he was ok, and South Wales Central AM Eluned Parrott offered "best wishes".
