I WAS going to ask your rugby writer Mark Orders to write an article about James Hook questioning the continual refusal by Wales and previously the Ospreys to recognise his obvious talents, especially when he has more creativity (coupled with a sound place kicking record) than Priestland and Biggar combined.
But hey presto an article duly appeared on February 20 and it obviously had an impact as Hook had a whole ELEVEN minutes against Italy.
Even though I consider his best position as an outside half who has never been allowed to develop in that role since being outstanding for Neath RFC then surely he has to be better than our one-trick centre Jamie Roberts.
Obviously Leigh Halfpenny is now well established at full back, but Hook's talents have been totally wasted by Wales in that position as well.

“Whilst i agree that hook was most probably outstanding as a young player for neath, i would question whether he has progressed as much as was expected. I certainly would'nt play him in the welsh team before Biggar, Roberts or halfpenny. In fact i would go as far as to say that he has had as many bad or ordinary games for wales as he has had good ones.Toward the end of his osprey career he played pretty poorly”
