In response to the report regarding Wind Street on New Year's Eve (Post, January 2).
I've lived in Swansea for nearly two years. I have been to Wind Street a few times and it seems it only caters for the young, up to 25.
Being in my 50s, the only place for older people seems to be the Strand. We seem to be able to handle our drink, why are there no venues for us oldies?

“There are quite a few pubs which cater for the older ones. Cross keys, Yates and the adelphi just to name a few. I don't mind going in the other places as well, although even i admit idol's is a bit to young for me.”

“the answer to that question is simple, the youngsters spend more money there than we do. It is not uncommon for the young of today to spend all their money in one night, where as we older generation seem to try and make it last all week”
