Your support is crucial in federation's ongoing success
CARMARTHENSHIRE YFC is now preparing and looking forward to the 70th celebrations of the formation of county's YFC Federation.
Last year and this year, many of the individual clubs celebrated their 70th anniversaries and St Ishmaels YFC, being one of the first formed in the National Federation, is already thinking of their 80th celebrations!
The movement has given so much to so many people — a stepping stone for some to develop their talents and for others the opportunity to socialise in rural areas.
Many have become confident young people rather than shy due to the opportunities offered.

Many throughout the years have had the opportunity to go globe-trotting.
They have been given the opportunity to visit under-developed countries as well as the more popular choices of New Zealand, Australia and Canada.
In the 70s and 80s, the county gave the opportunity for exchange visits and 20, 30 even 40 young people at a time visited Holland, Germany, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Spain and Brittany.
This was a wonderful way of seeing the world as you travelled together and were hosted by the young farmers in the foreign countries which gave the chance to prove their culture first hand.
Also you had to host the visitors on their return visit, giving them the opportunity to have a taste of Welsh culture.
The YFC calendar is so full with sporting activities, cultural activities, social events and educational competitions.
There is so much choice and the membership aged between 10 and 26 can decide on what they would like to be involved in as well as enjoying attending their local club on a weekly basis.
They learn all sorts of skills or visit local businesses of interest for an insight into how they operate.
Along the years, the County Eisteddfod has developed from being one night to two Friday nights and an entire Saturday.
The standard set by the young people is outstanding and the support the young people receive from their communities is also amazing.
It is this relationship between the generations which makes the YFC such a unique and wonderful movement.
The week of dramas keep the Welsh heritage alive and it was nice to see so many clubs competing at club level, - but more importantly it is nice to see the clubs perform the dramas in their local villages and entertain the people of their rural communities.
The pantomime and the half hour competitions are enjoyed by all, and the February half term week is looked forward to by all ages — the younger children as well as the older generation who have been staunch supporters of Carmarthenshire YFC for many years.
These people are what makes our movement strong.
The county rally has seen many changes and many venues during its 70 year history and this year, the Rally will be held at the United Counties Show Ground, Nantyci on Saturday, May 4.
Carmarthenshire has 142 voluntary club leaders giving tremendous support to young people in their communities and giving a huge commitment.
The movement really appreciates the service of all our leaders as without them no club would be able to function.
Also, we appreciate the support of so many businesses and families who constantly support us with the preparation of competitions and events, and give financial contributions to ensure the smooth running of the county federation. Thank you to everyone for your constant support towards the Carmarthenshire Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs/Diolch yn fawr iawn i bawb am eich cefnogaeth di-ffael i Fudiad Ffermwyr Ieuainc Sir Gâr.
