street booze ban to combat yobs
DRINKING alcohol in the street is set to be banned across a large part of Llanelli town centre in a bid to tackle antisocial behaviour.
Carmarthenshire Council is to consider a request for a Designated Public Place Order to be made across areas of the Elli, Tyisha and Glanymor wards.
The proposal, will be discussed at the next meeting of the council's executive board with a recommendation for approval after positive consultation.
Councillor John Jenkins, said: "There is a time and place for drinking and that's in the pub and not in the street."
