Dobbie staying at the Liberty
BRENDAN Rodgers has indicated that Stephen Dobbie will not leave the Liberty this month after insisting he does not want to lose any senior players.
Dobbie has been linked with the likes of Blackpool and Bristol City, but Rodgers has stated that only some of his young fringe players are likely to depart before the January transfer window closes.

Swansea City have sent teenage midfielder Lee Lucas on loan to League Two side Burton Albion for the rest of the season.
"Lee has gone and there might be one or two other younger players who go out to get some experience," Rodgers said.
"One or two might go out on loan, but I want to keep my senior players around.
"Unless there's something dramatic in the next few days, nobody will be going."
Rodgers has also denied suggestions that Ferrie Bodde could be sent out on loan in an attempt to build his fitness.
The playmaker made his second reserve-team appearance of the season in midweek but is still some way from first-team contention — even in the lower leagues.
"For now Ferrie can't go out on loan," Rodgers said.
"He looks stronger day by day and week by week, but I still think he is some time away from playing.
"A loan could be something we look at further down the line, but he needs a few weeks to get up to speed."

“hacker,
In that case I take back my comment on Ferrie. Love to see him return but still have my doubts as to his longer term fitness.”

“Fully correct decision on both.
Dobbie hasn't look PL quality but then he looked a poor championship player for a while too. Deserves a chance, though I can't see where he is going to play right now as we aren't playing with a real AM any more.
Bodde should be playing once a week in friendlies/reserves for the rest of the year before a proper pre-season. No point putting him in the lower leagues for the hatchet boys to kick.
Paul - Bodde has cost us next to nothing since his injury, most of his wage and medical costs are being paid by the insurance we took out on him (just like every player).”

“I would just like to thank Brendan Rodgers, for what I consider to be the right decision in keeping Steven Dobbie, he's not a fans favourite for nothing, and I hope he gets a his fair share of games, Roberto Martinez saw something in him, to bring him here, Ian Holloway saw something in Steven too, and so do we fans, Steven Dobbie needs developing at the top level, we have not seen his full potential yet, in my view.
Ferrie Bodde has a lot to prove, and seems determined to do just that, and I'm sure the great majority of fans here at Swansea, wish him every success in his endeavours to get back onto 'The field of Dreams'.”

“BODDE will be back ,and as long as he is mentally strong he will play in the last few games of the season, and the Swans will get back all that they have put into his rehab ,A few weeks ago i had my reservations but he has come good in the last few games he has played in , and now its just getting the body and football skills up to scratch and hay ho a millian pound player again.”

“Bodde will never play for the Swans again. A gem costs lots of money as he has done. Hope I'm wrong but I think he is far too injury prone to ever be back to his excellent best. Time to move on.”

“Glad to hear that Dobbie is staying at least until end of season. Also very pleased to read that B R is looking after Bodde. When you have a precious gem in your possession you do not put it on a tray on your front lawn. You look after it, you keep it safe and only wear it when the gem that is Mr Bodde can look after himself on the Premiership field of play. He will then dazzle as a precious gem can.”
