The 21-year-old New York born actress plays Stephanie in the teen comedy which also stars Sir Ben Kingsley and Mary-Kate Olsen.
Olivia said: "She's so many different things. It was very unlike me, usual for me to play a girl who's insanely kind of sexed up and I definitely identify with the sexual experiences. I've never had trouble finding guys, finding boyfriends and having that kind of attention and you know it's a fun part of being a teenage girl is feeling like you know what you're doing even though most of the time you actually don't."
The Juno star also revealed she related to her character's loneliness.
She said: "I had a lot of friends in High School but no specific group you know that I was a big part of so I ended up being lonely a lot of the time. I think that Stephanie is the kind of girl who's so constantly surrounded by friends that when she's not she just absolutely doesn't know what to do, she needs that companionship and friendship.
"Which in some ways is a character flaw but I think in some ways drives her to be just an enjoyer of peoples' company. She's relaxed, she can get along with anybody and that's a part of her personality that I definitely can relate to."
