The singer's older sister Jessica Simpson revealed during recording of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Ashlee is "jumping around" in an attempt to get things started.
Jessica revealed: "They're going to have to [induce labour]. It's already developing really quick."
She added her 24-year-old sister is trying everything she can think of to begin labour. "Different foot massages and stuff I don't know. I think she's really just jumping around trying everything right now."
Ashlee's husband Pete Wentz revealed she was due to give birth three weeks ago.
The Fall Out Boy Rocker told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show last month: "I'm permanently on-call right now. She is at the very end, and it could happen at any point now.
"She is excited, she's anxious. I think she wants it to be over. She just wants to not be pregnant any more. She wants to have it because it's, like, a struggle to go up and down the stairs. Going out in public is insane.
"She's hot all the time. She's like 'I wish I was in Canada right now.' Our room temperature is set to, like, 34 degrees. It's insane!"
