AN earlier prosecution witness was 20-year-old Jonathan Paul Staddon, of Llangyfelach, Swansea, who had sex with Mrs Grabham after meeting her on a night out in the city centre a few weeks before her death.

Apprentice bricklayer Mr Staddon told the court that on a Friday or Saturday in early March last year, he and a male friend were near Aspers casino when they got talking to Mrs Grabham, and she invited them to her home.

"She seemed like a nice girl," said Mr Staddon.

At the flat, they had a few drinks and Mrs Grabham indicated where cannabis was being grown in the attic.

Then, she and Mr Staddon had sex in a bedroom after his friend fell asleep in the lounge.

It was almost dawn when he and his friend left the flat after calling a taxi.

Mr Staddon, who agreed he was "very attracted" to Mrs Grabham, also described how some days later he and Mrs Grabham arranged to meet in the city centre and he went back to the flat with her once again.

After reading in a newspaper a few weeks later about the launch of a missing person inquiry, he rang her phone because he was not sure if she was the person involved.
