Not second class citizens

IT only takes time for each of us to attain the position of senior citizens. But for age, we are the same person, with the same outlook to life as in our younger days.

As a group, we are the people you would trust leaving your grandchildren with. But in business, it is money not love that counts. To insurance, coach holidays, hotels and others, I ask, do you think differently when considering the quality of service that may do for senior citizens, even though for that service the elderly are usually asked to pay more?

The not so comfortable coach, the hotel food differing from other guests and certainly not better. We may be senior, but not second class.

Is it not time for all senior citizens associations, to combine their experiences, in the hope that any quality service they may have had, would be passed on and beneficial to all?

Naturally, bad service from whatever source, should not be considered suitable, I know it may be very difficult to criticise, at least on paper without having some comeback to deal with, word of mouth sorts that problem out.

On the other hand, recommendation from all senior citizens groups should be highly sought after, as priority given by them will surely be of real benefit to the success of any organisation and company.

If you agree with this, but consider it difficult to put into practice, then why not make a start by lobbying your local councillor to set up a newsletter or newspaper for the benefit of senior citizens in general and associations in particular.

“I'm sorry is this person honestly saying that when he stays at a hotel he gets served inferior food because of his age? If so what utter tosh! And does he really think coach companies have a fleet of 'not so comfortable' coaches to be wheeled out anytime someone elderly shows up?

I get so fed up of different groups wanting to be treated differently because they are old, young, male, female, not decided, short, tall etc etc. Why do you want a special newspaper for you because of your age? Is the news different for you?”
