Have your say: What's in an airport name
I READ with special interest, about a new name for Cardiff Airport. It would be great to have a good Welsh name, some one has missed the point in saying that it would bring in more passengers.
I for one think not, I would like to welcome back Jon Horne (editor's note: chief executive) to the helm. It was during his first term that the airport saw passengers of 2.5 million through the doors. I would like to know what went wrong when he departed.
There was a mention of putting a new front on the airport. There is a lot to be done before spending any more money at this stage.
There is a need to appoint a airline transport recruitment manager to broker a deal with the airlines and give him a three-year contract and free hand.
Look at costs, for example, landing fees, fuel, car parking, food, security, etc. Get that bucket and spade trade back to Palma/ Portugal /Barcelona etc.
We have an airport in Wales that is not working properly, having spent over £52 million.
Why should we travel to Bristol to get to the places as mentioned.
I understand there is a task force in operation, lets have some feedback. A very good business plan needs to be put into operation without delay to bring the airport back to what used to be.
Lets have value for our tax payers money.
