Have your say: Wales should follow Scots
A REPORT calls for 40 more AMs to make the Welsh parliament more effective, thinking Welsh people will welcome this proposal. Such an extended parliament would be able to handle all affairs of the governance of Wales both internal and external. The cost, about £10 million, would be far less than retaining our increasingly redundant MPs.
It costs the Welsh taxpayer £590,000 to send each MP from Wales to sit in the "best gentlemen's club in the world", over £20 million a year. What do they do that would not be better done in Cardiff Bay? Not a lot.
Next September the Scottish people will be voting to sack all their unneeded MPs. We in Wales should do the same, they are a total waste of money.
In ancient times Wales governed herself. Across Europe former independent countries have re-emerged and our governing themselves. Its time Wales joined them.
