Have your say: Cuts make for fearful future
WE have just witnessed the sell-off of the Royal Mail, which according to experts was hugely under-priced leading to a large loss to taxpayers and yet the Government is helping to stoke house price inflation by guaranteeing deposits to house- buyers who are not even first-time buyers.
At the same time many vulnerable people are suffering because of the cuts in rent allowances — the so-called bedroom tax — and food banks are on the increase because of growing poverty.
We are now told that massive cuts in council services are forthcoming due to cuts in funding by the same UK Government which will inevitably lead to yet more suffering for the elderly, disabled and poorer members of our society. It really makes you fearful for the future.
