£45k grant to combat racism
THE Welsh Government has given a grant of £45,254 to support the work of anti-racism group Show Racism the Red Card.
The organisation uses famous footballers to help educate children and young people about anti-racism.
The funding will allow the organisation to visit schools and sports clubs across Wales, and to hold workshops and educational events for an estimated 9,000 youngsters over the coming year.
Training events will also be held for teachers, and workshops arranged for specific groups including young offenders and Gypsy travellers.
