£3 million highway launched on budget
A £3 MILLION link road on the outskirts of Swansea will open this month, three months ahead of schedule and on budget.
The 1.5km highway is a Welsh Government-led project and the second and final stage of the Ffordd Amazon road.
The first stage provided access to the distribution centre run by online retail giant Amazon.
It will allow a second access road to be built to serve the £1.2 billion Coed Darcy regeneration scheme.
The extension of Ffordd Amazon will release 30 acres of privately owned employment land and five acres of Welsh Government owned employment land for development purposes.
Business Minister Edwina Hart said: "The road is strategically important as it supports the on-going development of Coed Darcy, one of the most significant regeneration projects in Wales that will create a new sustainable community."
