Neath road labelled the 'most poorly kept in the UK' to get makeover
WORK is being undertaken to repair a Neath road which has been labelled "the most poorly maintained council-owned road in the UK" by a farm owner.
Kerry Tanner, of Gelli March Farm, said parts of Cwmbach Road had been left in a poor state by Neath Port Talbot Council.

Mr Tanner said something needed to be done to the stretch between Cwmbach Cottages Guest House and Cefn Faes Farm.
In response, the council's head of streetcare, Mike Roberts, said work had now started on the road to sort it out.

Mr Tanner said the potholes on the road were "horrendous".
He said: "Despite numerous complaints from residents, nothing gets done except occasionally some potholes are filled in. "This remedy normally lasts 10 days to a fortnight. The whole stretch needs digging up and relaying. It has been like this for the past five years. My son has actually damaged his alloy wheels on this road.
"It has to be the most poorly maintained council-owned road in the UK.

"I am looking forward to seeing what the council does so I can have an easier route to my home."
Mr Tanner said the road was used by lots of drivers, including those who use Neath Golf Club.
"It is a busy road," he said. "I don't think the council appreciated the volume of traffic that uses this road — between local residents, business users and golfers.
"In fact, some firms have actually refused to travel to my farm because of the state of the road."
Neath MP Peter Hain, who has been contacted by Mr Tanner about the state of the road, said he was looking into the issue.
"The condition of Cwmbach Road in Cadoxton has been raised with me by residents and I am taking up the issue on their behalf with Neath Port Talbot Council," he said.
Mr Roberts, from Neath Port Talbot Council, added: "There is a five-day road closure which started on Monday, during which time work will be undertaken by Welsh Water and then by council drainage and highway maintenance teams."
