Last call to nominate green projects
TIME is running out to nominate environmentally-friendly projects ahead of this year's Sustainable Swansea Awards.
Organisers are looking for keen- on-green community groups, schools, individuals, businesses and other groups that have done that little bit extra for the environment and their community over the past two years.
"Swansea has a reputation of being a hotbed for environmental projects and the quality of entries is always high, said Philip McDonnell, award scheme co-ordinator.
"It is great to see just how much is going on locally and there are usually some real surprises from organisations that wouldn't normally be associated with the environment."

Previous winners have included voluntary groups such as the Blaenymaes Drop-in Centre and RSPCA Llys Nini, plus businesses such as AB Glass, of Swansea West Business Park.
These set great examples on energy use, recycling and supporting biodiversity, said Mr McDonnell.
There are eight award categories, from looking after wildlife to taking care of local streams, and from reducing waste to looking after our built heritage.
The closing date for applications is November 16. The biennial award scheme is part of the Sustainable Swansea Initiative, a partnership project run by Swansea Environmental Forum, which aims to raise awareness of environmental sustainability.
