Five vehicles torched on two Swansea streets
Residents of Pentreguinea Road and Foxhole Road were stunned after waking in the early hours of Sunday morning to find flames lighting up the half mile stretch of road.
Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused following the string of fires.
"It was crazy out there," Laura Thompson of Foxhole Road said.
"We woke up after hearing a cracking noise outside and we couldn't believe what we saw, there were flames everywhere.
"Our car is ruined."
The 27-year-old was one of five vehicle owners targeted in the unprovoked attack.
Firefighters attended the scene on Sunday after receiving a call concerning just one fire.
But emergency services were stunned on arrival to find four more cars ablaze.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Officers attended the scene at approximately 4.30am where a number of cars had been ignited. We are treating the incidents as suspicious."
Lee Brickwood of Pentreguinea Road had his vehicle damaged in the attack.
"The car is only a year old and it's a complete write off," he said.
"It was a mobility car that we use for my mother, she completely relies on it.
The 38-year-old father of two added: "We woke up after hearing the windscreen exploding.
"If the petrol tank had blown up before the firefighters arrived the house and half the street could have gone up in flames.
"My kids could have been hurt, anything could have happened.
"I just hope they catch whoever did this."

This is not the first time vehicles in the area have been targeted.
But residents say the situation has now got out of hand.
Laura Thompson said: "We have had wing mirrors broken and cars scratched in the past but it is now obviously getting out of hand.
"This is just extreme, it has to stop here."
Meanwhile Police are appealing for information regarding the fires.
A spokesman for the force added:: "Anyone who saw, or who may know anything, is asked to call Swansea police on 01792 456 999."
