City woman has swine flu

Sunday, June 28, 2009, 17:51

THE first case of swine flu has been found in Swansea.

The National Public Health Service in Wales says a 20-year-old local woman had links with a confirmed case of the virus in Cambridge.

Just a fortnight ago, Skewen GP Eleanor Williams became the second person in Wales to be confirmed as having the virus. There are now 17 confirmed cases.

Both the Assembly and the NPSW say all those who have been in close contact with the woman are being traced.

They have not, however, released her identity.

In a statement, the NPHS said: "No further details will be confirmed or denied about cases in order to protect their right to confidentiality."
