'I will need all the energy I can get'
HEY Guys!
Hope everyone has had a cool week! Here's this week's blog about hairspray rehearsals!
Woke up 10am, nice and early as class starts at 12pm today. We all got a lie in!
I have learnt my lines from last week that I kept forgetting. It was quite hard though as there is so many to learn! I can't wait for class though, as we are focusing this week more on singing, recapping on Act One harmonies and learning Act two ones.
12pm- Got to class, as usual played a game to warm up. This week it was fire ball. It's always fun because we get really competitive and everyone wants to win! After a very energetic game of fire ball we all sat around the piano for a vocal warm up before going on to harmonies. Our vocal warm up's are really important to protect our voices before we sing. Especially today, as there was going to be a lot of singing!
We began with recapping on 'Without Love'. This is one of my favourite songs in the whole show because it's so lively and happy. Everyone gets to sing in it and we all got to learn lots of different harmonies. At first everyone was a bit wobbly on what they had to sing, but after singing it twice over, everyone began to remember and it now is starting to sound really cool! Hopefully by next week we will be able to finish it!
We covered all of the songs from act one, including my song 'Run and Tell That'. They all sounded wicked! Mark the director said he wanted us to then sing all the harmonies and songs with the routines and blocking. This sounded like a tricky one to start off with to remember everything we need to do.
We went through all the dance numbers in act one and sung with them. I could tell that the more energetic the dances were the harder it was going to be to sing whilst doing them. This is one thing I need to keep working on at home. I will need to make sure my stamina in excellent by the show dates, as we will be performing for nearly two weeks! And I will need all the energy I can get!
Next week is going to be all Stamina based, so I need to get practicing! I want this show to be brilliant, and with all my friends working together I think it will be!
