'No need for more AMs'
CONSERVATIVE AM Suzy Davies says Wales does not need any more politicians — but a discussion on increasing the number of AMs is a worthwhile exercise.
A report by the Electoral Reform Society has suggested increasing the number of AMs at Cardiff Bay from 60 to 100.
Ms Davies said: "Thirteen AMs make up the Welsh Government.
"They draw up the legislation and the budget.
"That leaves just 47 of us to ask all the questions about the policy and the actual wording of every piece of primary law or secondary legislation and every line of Welsh Government expenditure.
"Do we need more politicians? Probably not.
"The discussion has to consider the number, roles and respective power of Welsh MPs, AMs and councillors."
