LLANELLI'S answer to Jay-Z is aiming to put his hometown on the lyrical map by rapping about the realities of life on its streets.

Rapper and music producer Shorty-p, who is also known as Ceri Preece, from Morfa, has put words to rhythm about what really goes on in Llanelli.

The 21-year-old ex-Coedcae school pupil released his first independent album, titled Morfa Boy: The Album, earlier this year.

Ceri said: "The album features 12 tracks in the styles of southern hip hop, R&B, dance and dancehall, and gives you an insight into the harsh life on the streets of Llanelli, and an insight into the mind and lifestyle of Shorty-p."
