Charity before presents for Golden Wedding couple

Monday, June 29, 2009, 15:15

MY parents Clive and Marj Aston from Mumbles celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, June 27.

As they are both previously from Dudley in the West Midlands, we had a party in the local social club in Netherton so all relatives could attend.

Instead of presents, my parents asked for donations to a cancer charity and managed to raise over £600.

This Saturday, they are having another party at Clyne Golf Club (where Clive is a Vice President) for all the friends that they have made over the years whilst living in Mumbles (over 50 years), and again they are requesting donations for charity instead of presents.

My wife, two daughters and myself are very proud of what they are doing.

Mr Ceri Aston, Bryn Street, Brynhyfryd.
