Man accused of fleeing court appears via video link

A MAN accused of escaping from Swansea Crown Court has appeared there via videolink to hear the charge.

James Stevenson, aged 29, of Bonymaen, Swansea, is accused of escaping from Swansea Crown Court when it was sitting at the city's Guildhall on October 2.

He is also charged with stealing two gold rings worth £240 from a man in the Morriston area of the city on October 7.

No pleas were entered and he was remanded in custody until January 4.
