On-the-mend Neil Taylor delighted to sign new Swansea City contract
NEIL Taylor has expressed his delight after signing a new contract which ties him to Swansea City until 2016.
The left-back still had two-and-a-half years to run on the deal he penned in the summer of 2011, but has agreed fresh terms and a 12-month extension.
That will come as a boost to Taylor, who is continuing his comeback from a serious ankle injury sustained in September.
And it is also good news for Swansea given that before the fitness blow, the former Wrexham man had proved himself as one of the most consistent left-sided full-backs in the Premier League.

Welsh international Taylor suffered a triple fracture and dislocation during a 2-2 draw with Sunderland.
He recently spent a week at St George's Park, the Football Association's state-of-the-art training base in Staffordshire as part of his recovery.
Taylor has suffered a setback in his recovery after one of the screws in his ankle broke, and as a result he will undergo a minor operation today.
But the 23-year-old says his rehabilitation is going well.
"I'm delighted to sign," said Taylor. "We spoke about a new contract before I broke my ankle, but when something like that happens you do wonder what will be.
"But in fairness to the chairman (Huw Jenkins) he text me the day after the injury and told me not to worry about the contract.
"Full credit to the club, they have been as good as their word.
"Both myself and the club are happy with it. I see my long-term future here.
"I'd like to think I'm still ahead of schedule and I would still like to join in training with the lads before the end of the season.
"But if I have to do an extra two or three weeks of rehab to get it right, that's what I will do."
Swansea, meanwhile, have again been linked with young West Brom defender Craig Dawson.
They were previously interested in the England Under-21 international centre-back before he moved from Rochdale to the Baggies in 2010, and there are suggestions that they are keen on a January deal.
