PETE Coe has been described as a "one-man folk industry".

The guest at the Valley Folk Club, Ivy Bush Hotel, Pontardawe, tomorrow night, Pete has been a member of various musical collaborations and a member of the New Victory Band, Bandoggs and Red Shift.

He has been a firm favourite at the Pontardawe club over the years making many return visits.

With a distinctive voice, he is also a multi-instrumentalist playing bouzouki, mountain dulcimer, banjo and melodeon. The evening begins at 8pm.

On Sunday The Halfpenny Folk Club, Greyhound Inn, Oldwalls, Gower have Gren Bartley as the first guest of the season.

A top acoustic finger-picking guitarist and a banjo player, he is also as a prolific songwriter.

He uses influences from folk and blues traditions to produce his poetry-driven lyrics, catchy melodies and narratives.

On Sunday, from 8.30pm, he will be accompanied by Julia Disney who appeared with him at last year's Gower Folk Festival.
