The final act? Not if Swans have their way
Fortunately. After the job he did on Wayne Routledge, they should sign up Fede Bessone.
The girl round the corner got me a Buttons egg, but I was a bit upset that she hid it on a dual carriageway.
She said something about me needing to hit the road.
So I did. Very early on Easter Monday morning to watch what I thought was going to be the final act of Swansea City's play-off bid.
I didn't fancy us to make it back-to-back wins at Barnsley, but I was very happy to be wrong.
After getting the job done against Norwich, the lads eased past Barnsley without actually playing very well.
But this is not the time for pretty performances.
Swansea have had plenty of them this season and they have not always got the points they've deserved.
This is the stage of the season where results are everything, and that's even more the case for Swansea than most.
The Swans cannot afford to drop another point if they are to sneak into the Championship's top six and they never really looked like doing so at Oakwell.
We were up and running inside a couple of minutes, and what a joy to see Ashley Williams score from a set-piece.
Barnsley's defending wasn't up to much, but it shows what can happen when you put a good ball into the box.
Jordi Gomez's brilliant solo effort doubled the advantage and then another shambles at the back for Barnsley allowed Jason Scotland to wrap the points up.
Roberto Martinez always goes on about how his team need to be at their best to score a goal.
Not here they didn't.
Barnsley were a right old mess and Swansea took advantage.
Here was some belated revenge for the Millennium Stadium in 2006, another day when the Swans didn't get what they deserved.
I reckon Martinez's boys are worth a play-off place after the football they've played this season.
I might be bit biased — I've got a Swans lampshade, duvet and curtain set in my bedroom — but from what I can see, we've been a breath of fresh air in the Championship.
Will we make it?
Sadly, I think not.
I can see us beating Bristol City on Saturday, but I'm not sure we'll get the maximum at Sheffield United and that will almost certainly mean Blackpool on the final day is irrelevant.
Then again, I didn't think we'd win at Barnsley.
Really, it's nice just to be in the hunt with three games to go.
*************************
I THOUGHT I'd stumbled across a meeting of the South Yorkshire dodgy hairdo club when the Barnsley players walked out on Monday.
There were more Alice bands on show than in a troop of cheerleaders.
Midfielder Jamal Campbell-Ryce had one of the few sensible Barnets — and a pair of twinkling feet.
I thought he was excellent, yet the locals were on his back almost every time he got the ball.
Not sure what that was all about, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in Swansea colours next season if he decides he wants to get away.
