“davewills72 - if anyone can't see the sign in time to slow down gently then they shouldn't be allowed to drive. They are being completely irresponsible and putting other people's lives at risk.”

“I should point out that the Post have the junctions wrong in this report, confusing previous commentators - it was after the Baglan turn off and prior to Jn 42 for Swansea.”

“I was caught up in this and can confirm the incident happened after the 50mph zone ends and well in to the 70mph zone approaching river bridge (the accident was westbound). On this occasion, not to do with people slowing from 70 to 50, although I agree this does happen further back along the motorway.”

    “Texting I suspect ;-)
People travel far too closely, at 70 mph you're blind for a distance between the base line & net of a tennis court. Drive more closely & you want see the accident until after it's happened.”

“what i am saying is that it goes straight from 70 to 50 and some people (who i have witnessed being a professional driver(pcv and lgv))automatically drop their speed without being aware of other drivers it has an effect on vehicles behind the one that has taken drastic actions (being over zealous which i think has happened in this instance)and drastically lowered their speed and caused the collision today”

    “davewills 72
The signage on motorways are standard throughout the UK in size, any driver SHOULD be able to read it well before they reach the change in speed limit,it's called awareness.”

“accident happened just before junction 40 200 yards before speed limit signs says 50 nowhere near where the speed camera was!when you drive at 70 and then all of a sudden without warning you see a sign that says 50 (and you dont know the road)first thing you going to do is drop 20 mph in seconds thats what probably happened ,suggestion neathboy 234 you seem to have a comment on most news items can i suggest you ask your council to put count down markers and make it safe on the motorway”
