“Maxmin, thanks for putting us readers out of our misery.
If that is precisely what happened then it is a truly unfortunate story. One would have thought that she could't hvae been in a better place to get the assistance she hoped for. I imagine the hospital may come back with their version.
Can almost relate that story to an incident some years ago when I had given a lift to someone in my car and began to feel threatened by his behaviour. I had a cunning plan. I was about to pass Police HQ so I swiftly swerved through the gates and pulled up outside.Rushing in to reception for help I was told calmly that there were no police officers based there and that I would have to drive to the next poice station which was some three miles away. Fortuntely for me my passenger had fled the scene by the time I glanced at my car! It transpired that the police were actively looking fo him, and he was subsequently apprehended.”

“I'm afraid you have to buy the paper for page 9. Having read the full story it does sound horrific. Apparently the lady went to hospital for an unrelated problem and on arrival she phoned her husband to say she had arrived safely.
She was so alarmed by her husbands speech on the phone she went into A&E to call for an ambulance. She was told that since her husband was not on the premises she would have to go outside to phone 999 on her mobile which she did.
Personally I think the staff should have realised there was a possible emergency and called 999 there and then, not let precious minutes slip by.”

“Does appear to have the makings of a good story but I suspect that once again there'll be more to it than meets the eye.
The article does make me smile as it reminds me of my sunday school days when most of the bibles handed out had a message scribbled inside the cover "if my name you want go to page xx" on which of course was another similar note etc. There were so many such trails in a very big book that it kept us busy (and quiet) for not only the one hour session but for many sessions to come. I often wondered if the teacher had done it, because it certainly kept us kids quiet.
A bit like us folk searching for the above article on page 9”

“....where is page 9 on this website???? If the EP could print a sentence, surely they could have included the whole story at the same time?????”
