THE fountain in Swansea city has run the colour of blood to highlight heart disease.

It is part of the British Heart Foundation's (BHF) celebration of National Heart Month.

The charity is also going all red at its stores, which are holding wear red days.

Yesterday staff and volunteers at The Kingsway store were dressed as red fairytale characters, holding a red heart healthy picnic, and a busking volunteer was dressed in red to help raise cash.

Sue George, BHF Cymru area manager, said: "We've got a brilliant team of staff and volunteers in the Swansea store who go above and beyond to make it a success.

"We're hoping the local community will come in and join in the festivities this Friday as all funds raised from Wear Red Day will go towards fighting heart disease.

"It's a fun way to raise money for a great cause."
