We haven't a hope in comp
IRELAND had Jedward in the Eurovision contest and now we have deadwood — Engelbert Humperdinck — a British pop singer, best known for his No 1 hits Release Me and The Last Waltz.
Is this the best singer we can offer? We haven't a chance. Maybe next year it will be Des O'Connor singing Dick-a-dum-dum.

“Mind you, the last few years have hardly brought huge success with whoever sings. Might as well give the old chap a go. Whoever sings for the Uk will never win because of the "political" block voting. As Trunkies3 says, just sit back and enjoy the stupidity of it all.”

“Eurovision is a joke. No singer is going to risk their reputation by entering. It could kill their career overnight, as it has done to several of our entrants in the past.
Don't worry, sit back and enjoy the stupidity of it all. It's one of the few nights that's different to the usual fair.”
