Who is going to save views?
I AM delighted to find that Gower has now acquired lottery funding to preserve its beautiful but fragile landscape and also its history and heritage, which is also quite remarkable — to the amount of approximately £1.33 million. This is really good news!
People "from away" tell me they come to Gower because it is completely unspoilt and to admire its beautiful landscapes, beaches and sea views. But who will now protect the sea views? This has been left out.
You only have to stand on the top of Cefn Bryn on a sunny day to appreciate the immensity of this factor. The views are truly breathtaking.
My brother's grandson tells me, when he was playing rugby in Ilfracombe, he could see the Meridian Tower in Swansea; so what, may I ask, of the proposed 240 wind turbines which are two to three times this height? (D-day moves a step closer for off shore turbines plan, Post August 3).
So who will protect the seascapes of Swansea and Gower! You and me?
