MARSEILLE is France's second largest city after Paris.
Attractions include the Old Port (Vieu-Port), the city's main harbour and marina, the Abbey of Saint-Victor and the Phare de Sainte Marie lighthouse. This year it has been designated European Capital of Culture. It's also home to several major festivals, and is recognised across France for its hip-hop music.
VALENCIA is Spain's third largest city after Madrid and Barcelona, and capital of the autonomous community of Valencia.
The tourism boom has seen many landmarks restored, including whole sections of the old city. Festivals range from the internationally-renowned Las Fallas to the rather more bizarre La Tomatina, a tomato fight held in the nearby town of Bunol.

ROTTERDAM, second largest city in the Netherlands, is one of the largest ports in the world.
It was European Capital of Culture in 2001. It's home to the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the De Doelen concert building, numerous theatres, cinemas, museums, churches and a zoo.
As well as having a strong hip-hop scene since the early 1980s, Rotterdam is also home to a style of hardcore electronic music known as Gabber.

It's one of Northern Germany's major transport hubs, one of the most affluent cities in Europe, renowned as a media and industrial centre, and a tourism destination.
Music is an important part of Hamburg's cultural life, and stage musicals are particularly popular.
POZNAN and its suburbs form the largest metropolitan area in western Poland. It is among the oldest in Poland and sometimes claimed to be the kingdom of Poland's first capital.
Its many historic buildings and sights are mostly concentrated around the Old Town and other parts of the city centre. Many of these lie on the tourist walk known as the Royal-Imperial Route.
Among its cultural highlights is the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition, held every five years. At the other end of the music spectrum there are also numerous rap, hip-hop and rock bands.
BROUGHTON is a town in Flintshire, close to the Wales-England border. Its nearest city is Chester.
It is home to a large aircraft factory at Hawarden Airport. The factory was previously owned by Vickers Armstrong and De Havilland Aircraft, but now it is the Airbus wing factory.
The football club that now carries the Airbus name was formed in 1946 as Vickers-Armstrong and joined the Welsh Premier League in 2004.
