More fun, reduced crime
I LIVED in Taunton for four years. For such a small area there was a lot to do for the children.
I am now living back in Swansea and can't help but express my feelings on the lack of places for children to enjoy themselves, especially in the wet and cold weather, which we seem to have a lot of in Wales.

After thought and a lot of experience in bringing children up and enjoying quality time with them, I have to put an idea forward. I believe this idea will reduce crime and social isolation of our people, bringing together the local community as one, something lacking in Great Britain in today's society.
The idea is a fun factory for each area. One situated within easy access of residents. By fun factory I mean a purpose built building with a soft play area, an indoor football pitch and a music area to record tracks and sing. The building will be open to toddlers in the day and after school for children and teens. To play will be free and the play centre will be self funding from local businesses and sponsors.

A lottery grant will build the centre, each centre will accept parents to attend cookery classes or 5-a-side football for fathers and sons, to attend while children play, each cookery class will serve tea for all attendees to the centre. There will be local mini bus drop off and pick up from local schools. The centre will run classes on charity initiatives to raise money for the running of the centre as well as a worthwhile cause. There will also be a chance to go on trips away to destinations decided by the teachers to view other cultures and help where needed, to open the eyes of our children to life and other experiences.
I believe these centres will bring communities together, each centre can have sing-offs annually or quarterly against other centres, and compete with sponsorship money raised. Single parents can have an outlook instead of being isolated. Same for families who find money hard to come by. I firmly believe that giving families this opportunity will unite communities and help social interaction among all classes, reducing crime, drug abuse and alcohol abuse that develops through social isolation.
