A DAFEN cat could be the oldest feline in town after reaching the distinguished age of 24 — that's 90 in cat years.

Pensioner Janet Barton, who has owned tabby Jenny since she was a kitten, said: "Despite her age she is in good health and gets on with the dog like a house on fire."

"The secret to her long life is a lot of love," added 70-year-old Mrs Barton, of Bryn Gaer.

"She doesn't really eat cat food, she has a lot of chicken and ham and fresh meat which might also help.

At almost a decade older than most cats, Jenny may be the oldest moggy in Llanelli.

If so, she will have succeeded Lucy, who died earlier this year at what was believed to be the ripe old age of 40 (179 in cat years).
