RYAN Jones returns for Wales against Italy tomorrow with a clear message for his side: ''We have to put our own house in order.''

The national skipper is one of three Lions coming back into a revamped side, with Mike Phillips and Gethin Jenkins also on the comeback trail and youngsters Tom Prydie and Sam Warburton starting.

But Jones believes cutting out needless mistakes is the key to Wales ending their Six Nations campaign on a high.

He said: ''It is a huge plus with the addition of Gethin and Mike for this game — they have a vast amount of experience and certainly lead by example.

''But what we have to make sure we do is put our own house in order.

''Italy got beaten by a superb France team last weekend. We've had some pretty big, physical encounters against Italy in recent seasons, and I expect nothing less this time.

''It's up to us to look at ourselves. I've said it time and time again, the games we've lost in this campaign we have made mistakes.

''There has been ill discipline on our part and some poor periods of rugby, and if we can eradicate those then it is all about us.

''It has been frustrating and disappointing. There were a couple of games we possibly could have won, and with a bounce of the ball, maybe a bit more confidence and discipline we would have done.

''As a result, we find ourselves at the wrong end of the table. We have to make sure we finish on a positive note.''

Wales will not be able to say they lack incentives to perform against the Italians.

Places are up for grabs for the summer tour to New Zealand and Warren Gatland has even warned that jobs and futures could be on the line.

Wales also need to provide convincing evidence that they are not heading into one of their characteristic pre-World Cup downturns.

They could even be left with a wooden spoon if they lose and Scotland beat Ireland in Dublin.

''There is a lot riding on this game. We need to do ourselves justice,'' added Jones.
