The search is on again to find Carmarthenshire’s real role models; ordinary people who make a difference to neighbours, friends and communities.
Radio Carmarthenshire and Scarlet FM supported by Dhami’s original Fish Bar and Restaurant will host the Local Hero Awards 2012 at a glitzy ceremony on Friday 26th October at The Best Western Diplomat Hotel, Llanelli where individuals will be recognised for their remarkable achievements. These are local people who have gone the extra mile, coped with adversity or generally achieved something worthy of recognition.
Arqiva UK Commercial Radio Presenter of the Year and Radio Carmarthenshire and Scarlet FM favourite, Tommo, who has been involved in the Local Hero awards for the past four years said:
“It ceases to amaze me the incredible things that people do. The night I’m sure will include heartwarming stories of courage, caring and really help reinforce the true community spirit there is in West Wales. It’s a great privilege for Radio Carmarthenshire and Scarlet FM to be part of what is truly a humbling and inspirational experience. It’s an opportunity for local people to have their say and vote for the real hero’s of our community and reward them for the great work they do.”
