We're entitled to our views
AS an MP, and a Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, I hope that Nigel Evans is very concerned that the subject of homosexuality has been made a no-go area, unless you have something positive and supportive to say about it.
If words are to retain their meaning, it is impossible to deny that the description of homosexuals as sexual deviants is factually accurate, because their sexuality deviates from the norm.
There is a body of public opinion that is repelled by the very idea of sexually deviant behaviour, not because these people are bigots, but because they recognise it as unnatural. It is deliberately emotive and wrong for Mr Evans to characterise these people as "still looking backwards through a prism of hate towards the middle ages". Nothing is further from the truth.
Finally, I have this to say to Mr. Evans. For genuinely held reasons, some people condemn homosexuality — get over it.

I don't think much of Nigel Evans' politics but, I think that his views on the subject are far more balanced and civilised than what we read above.
Call them "deviants" by all means N&A Supplier but, that isn't the purpose of your letter is it?
