We don't want plant
HAVING attended the planning meeting about Prenergy, I would like to thank all our supporters who turned up on the day and all the councillors who spoke up against the proposed power station.
Why planning are still approving this monstrosity beats me. All the issues raised five years ago are still to be resolved such as fire risk, sustainability of plant, where the waste will go.
Seems we are stuck in an absurd Alice in Wonderland situation where nobody seems to have the power to say no to Prenergy. Surely at some stage, especially after five years, planning should be able to see that the very serious issues with this power station have just been kicked into the long grass.
The absurdity was heightened by the chairman telling councillors they should have an open mind on this subject. What bunkum. Any councillor who can't make their mind up after five years shouldn't be a councillor. The decision was deferred so I say to planning the people of Port Talbot don't want to live with Prenergy's time bomb.

“Could well be an ashtray when Amos Brearly had the pub there was no smoking ban, If only he could see it now, much better”

Out of curiosity, is that an ashtray on a bar counter in your picture?”

“I wonder what Mr Palmer would rather have, an oil or gas power station, coal or even nuclear. He may even want to see more wind power. He doesn't really say what he'd like in it's place, perhaps even nothing!”
