Top dog earns her place in the club
FOR years she has contentedly led her master around the streets of west Swansea.
She has helped him onto buses, in and out of shops, and down to Mumbles for social gatherings.

And now Evie's unstinting devotion has been rewarded, in rather unusual style.
The clever guide dog is now an honorary member of Mumbles Rotary Club.
And she has the badge and certificate to prove it.
"One of our members, Colin Griffiths, suggested it, and all our members thought it would be a nice thing to do," said ex-Mumbles Rotary Club president Michael Turner.
"But we didn't ask her to take an oath!"

DOGS are traditionally man’s best friend, but they don’t just earn the title by being useful to their owners. They are also great company.
A good-natured dog can break the ice and bring together people. So maybe it is not so surprising that Mumbles Rotary Club should want Professor John Thomas’s faithful guide dog Evie as a member.
Evie now wears her Rotary badge on her collar. But, as all owners will confirm, one of the most pleasing things about dogs is they offer their friendship with no thought of reward.
