“I cannot for the life of me see any reasoning in closing: The WDA down, they were good for Wales in my opinion. Was it because they were too good in bringing investment, throughout Wales and taking it away from England? Well to be honest here! I'm sure this was the problem, as looking back even when Welsh firms were closing down, (not to many in them day's either) there was plenty to take their places. Let's looked at the Cardiff through Rhondda corridor, small firms sprung up, yes they at that time had a small labour force, but it was jobs at the end of the day. Now all we get is council's still drawing money from people, their not trying to save a penny or attempt to reduce our taxes. No problem if there's a crisis, bung the extra on motorists, tennant's, house owners. easy money. Now don't start me off about them obscene there bridge tolls either.”

“As a Marketing tool the WDA was very good. Where it fell down was on the financial side frequently coming up with packages to attract companies that allowed then to clear off after a few years. That side of things neeeded beefing up with people with real proper commcial experience rather than public sector people who had zero skills on that side of things”
