“Would a domestic sprinkler system require a large reservoir tank and a high pressure system?
I know for a fact that a local primary school has an entire out-building devoted to housing the sprinkler system and it only covers 4 class rooms!” -

“If the incoming water main pressure is too low then a domestic system may need up to a cubic metre of storage and a small pump. Schools and commercial buildings in general are governed by a totally different set of rules where the stored water requirement is much more onerous.”

It's a pity L J Jenkins is so ignorant of the facts.
Sprinkler systems do not cost thousands for a typical home.
Sprinkler systems are not made of expensive copper piping and fittings
Smoke does not, and cannot, set off a sprinkler system - only heat can do this
Sprinklers do not activate accidentally (unless someone deliberately attempts to vandalise)
There have not been any deaths in sprinklered premises - what price life L J Jenkins?
