“Oh yes, the old 'dog mess' one again.
So what about all the people who throw their food wrappers, bottles, cigarette packets, carrier bags etc etc etc, on the pavements, canal banks, river banks, parks, playing fields, in fact EVERYWHERE you go?
How about fining them? There's a fortune to be made there.
Take the blinkers off and look around at what this place is REALLY like. A disgrace.”

“Why not give everyone a camera and a microphone and record everything they say and do and have a GPS tracker on them and make them carry their bank details with them and show them to police when asked in the street and why hand curtains, why not let everyone see into your house?
Oh I know, because that would be government taking away your privacy and right to free will. We've lost enough of that already, thank you.”

“Um no disrespect to anybody but why is it that dog lovers who look after their pets and sort out their ablutions to the betterment of others, are fined if their hounds have done a whoopsy against their knowledge, easily done as everybody knows, anyway what about the horses dung littering some areas around our City, nobody objects to that, mm now I wonder if that would come under the same category, probably a different poo I would imagine, ah well enough about *$@%. It should be a grand feast of a weekend for us, Wales/Swansea City to enjoy, best to take your dogs out then, as they ( doggy poo officers) will all be glued watching the telly.”

“Dog mess....yes dog owners should make it their responsibility to clean up after their pets.Problem....a road not so far from where i live, happens in a short distance have 3 signs threatening a thousand pound fine for any dog owner found not cleaning up after their pooch.Yet where are the dog bins that are provided? 3 signs but no bins, shall they just pick it up and put it in their pockets till they get home? Still i have to proceed to the shops dodging the **** on the way and not an easy task seeing as its everywhere.”

“Many of us clean up after our dog JerryLew, see the dog waste bin in Gorseinon park. Prior to my last walk over to the park with my dog, as I do when it's raining, the bin still remained full. The lid had numerous dog waste bags piled on it, until that also could take no more. People were having to resort to the grass in front of the bin. I wander if it's been emptied now, as I sent an article re that to the Evening post, together with a photograph. I don't know if it got printed.
The next wet day & I'm walking over the park, it'll be interesting to see whether it has been emptied as yet by Swansea City Council. It's never been emptied since it was placed there, after us dog walkers complained long enough that there was no bin at that entrance/exit from the park.”

“On the recycling issue, instead of charging people for not recycling, why not reward people for recycling. I recycle as much as possible and being on a water meter its probably costing me money as I have to wash all the plastic, tins and bottles before recycling them. So how about giving people discounted on their rates in relation to how much they recycle.”

“Dog owners should be fined for not cleaning up yes, but not for not having the equipment, after all who are we to decide what an owner should do with the stuff?
If he/she feels comfortable putting it in their pocket then who are we to judge?
SWEPuser001 - Litterers ARE fined if caught already, so stop bleating.
RE: Horse dung, yes they should be fined as well, if you don't want to clean up after them then don't ride them on the roads.
RE: Recycling - Very difficult situation. You simply can not reward people for recycling as they will just steal other peoples recycling bags. It also actively discourages the far better solution of not buying stuff with ridiculous packaging in the first place. Charging people for not can lead to the same problem, unless they council plans to sift through the general rubbish to see how much could have been but wasn't recycled.”
“People who do not recycle should be charged for not doing so. Also dog wardens should randomly stop people walking dogs and check if they have items on them to clean up dog mess - if not they should get warned and receive a fine.”
