Councillor Gordon Walker was the wrong man for the job on two fronts. The first being he is a "union" man through and through and because the fire authority and the fire brigade UNION have two different agendas his appointment would have, in my opinion, caused chaos for the FA itself. The second reason being at the first meeting he attended he signed up to a rainbow alliance of POLITICAL parties in an attempt to gain overall control of the fire authority. Who needs a man like this??
Perhaps the people who elected Councillor Walker as an INDEPENDENT should be aware that he hardly opens his mouth at council meetings because his LEADER Councillor Fitzgerald does all the talking for the FAKE Independents on Swansea Council.
It is also politically naive of Mr Thurnwood to state that Councillor Walker should be allowed to take up his "rightful place on the fire authority. The position is a gift not a right.
