PONTARDAWE will make a determined bid to keep their noses in front of the chasing pack at the head of the second division when they entertain closest rivals Cowbridge tomorrow.

They took over at the helm from the Vale of Glamorgan club last Saturday but only a handful of points separate the pair, and the outcome of this crunch clash could well help determine the destiny of the title with only four games remaining.

Pontardawe will be unchanged from the side which got a winning draw with Llanelli last weekend and will again look to Stuart Miller to continue his excellent bowling form — he has taken eight wickets in the last two matches.

Lee Davies, who broke a thumb while fielding earlier in the campaign, could well be back for the vital last few weeks of the season but will not be returning tomorrow.

"We are in buoyant mood and raring to go again this week," said Pontardawe's Glan Richards.

Full strength

Clydach, who have moved back into the promotion picture with a couple of good results recently, are at full strength for their visit to Aberdare for what could be a crucial match.

Aberdare are also in the shake-up and the side that comes out on top will have a distinct advantage.

Briton Ferry Town were skittled out for just 52 at Clydach last Saturday and as they languish at the foot of the table their home game tomorrow against Maesteg is vital.

Town will be without top scorer Jonathan Joseph, who is on holiday, but Adrian Mainwaring is back.

Landore play what they consider a must-win game at Llanelli, who had to call off a midweek league cup game against Gorseinion because of difficulty in fielding a team.

Anthony Pennock and Andrew Mumford are both free of soccer commitments and will be turning out for Landore tomorrow.

Llanelli will be without the holidaying Kevin Thomas and there is a doubt about the availability of Chris Thomas.

Morriston will want to build on last week's win at Landore when they entertain Skewen.
